Is writing a luxury?

I've always been fond of this quote:
"The ultimate of being successful is the luxury of giving yourself the time to do what you want to do."
~ Leontyne Price
I vowed to myself that I'd continue on writing Left Unsaid after my 32nd birthday. That was 7 days ago and I haven't even opened the file.

Now that I'm self-employed, I seem to have less time on my hands, but at the same time, more freedom to stay up late, sleep in, work, write, and do it all over again.

I can work remotely from anywhere I want. I can choose to work, I can choose to write.

I have the luxury of doing both, so why aren't I?

It would be normal to say that trying to focus on building my business would take away brain power/creativity/etc from writing - understandable, but really, just an excuse.

The recent Writer's Digest Writing Basics magazine has an article called, "How to write your book in 15 minutes a day." Hmmm... I can do that, 15 minutes a day.

Can you?
